Winning Float Promotes Primary Care
Ginger Passalacqua, the hospital's senior coordinator for client services and communications, said she, her husband and several staff members spent about 30 hours putting a Fourth of July float together as a cheap, fun way to tell the community that they can get their pets' wellness exams and vaccinations at the hospital.
Photo by Ginger PassalacquaAlthough the parade was rained out, the judges reviewed the floats and awarded prizes. The Vet Med float, designed by graphic designer Kerry Helms, depicted a dog next to a stack of books with a giant stovepipe hat, and took the President's Trophy.
The float did finally hit the streets in an impromptu parade around the Vet Med grounds the following Tuesday.
