Marie-Claude Hofmann Receives Independent Scientist Award
Marie-Claude Hofmann, associate professor of veterinary biosciences, has received an Independent Scientist Award from the National Institutes of Health.The Independent Scientist Award is intended to foster the development of outstanding scientists and enable them to expand their potential to make significant contributions to their field of research. It provides three, four, or five years of salary support and protected timed for newly independent scientists who demonstrate the need for a period of intensive research focus as a means of enhancing their research careers.
Dr. Hofmann's current research seeks to answer questions about stem cell biology using spermatogonial stem cells as a model.
