Reminder about CVM-AD accounts and Privileges for DVM students
[This is was an informational email sent to all DVM students regarding CVM-AD accounts]
Currently, the majority of DVM students are utilizing their UIUC campus ad accounts to access workstations throughout the college by selecting UIUC from the drop down menu instead of CVM-AD. Your campus UIUC ad account does allow you to logon to the workstations and release print jobs in the CVM computer labs but does not grant the same access as your CVM-AD account.
CVM-AD Passwords and Account Privileges
All DVM students are granted a CVM-AD account when admitted to the College of Veterinary Medicine. Your CVM-AD account not only grants you access to the computers at the College of Veterinary Medicine but allows you to access shared college resources. In addition, all CVM-AD accounts have access to a personal network drive (your H: drive) from any CVM-AD computer. The current quota on each personal drive is 10GB. If you would like to access your H: drive remotely, click here for instructions.
Forgot your CVM-AD password or has it expired?
Visit the Help Desk Room 2938 VMBSB or 207 LAC with a photo id to have it reset.
First Year and never even logged in to the CVM-AD?
Send an email to Computing Services at net@vetmed.illinois.edu and your initial password can be emailed to you. Then during your initial logon you will be prompted to reset it to a desired password. This only applies to 1st years that have never successfully logged into the CVM-AD.
Know you existing CVM-AD password but want to change it so that it matches your other campus passwords?
Visit http://rocky.cvm.uiuc.edu/enrollapp for our ViperGuard service. This service allows you to set and change your security questions, which you can use later if you forget your CVM-AD password. You need to know your CVM-AD password to manage your security questions. Once enrolled, the CVM-AD password can be reset using the URL
http://rocky.cvm.uiuc.edu/resetpasswordapp by correctly answering the challenge questions.
