WIRELESS INTERNET UPGRADE FOR BASIC SCIENCES BUILDING

The wireless Internet infrastructure in the Basic Sciences Building will be upgraded on Tuesday and Wednesday January 5-6.

The wireless signal will be turned off building-wide starting the morning of Tuesday, Jan 5.
Although you may see some signal appear as the antennas get replaced, there will be no support for wireless on those days.

Full wireless signal will be available again starting on Thursday, January 7.

During this upgrade, CITES is replacing the antenna with newer models that support the "802.11n" channel. The new antenna will also have stronger signals.

CITES personnel will be in the building Monday through Thursday of that week allowing for extra days to stage the effort and clean-up afterward.

After this upgrade, you will want to give precedence to the N channel in the wireless configuration for your laptop computer. The configuration varies from computer to computer so please consult your documentation for instructions.
