Attached is a Word document with instructions for how to Add a Network Place to a CVM-AD file share.
How to Add a Network Place
Below are instructions for connecting to a shared network place. You will need to be using a university computer connected to the CVM-AD.
Windows 2000

• Double-click on My Computer and click on My Network Places in the left window pane
• Double-click the Add Network Place icon to open the Add Network Place Wizard
• Under Type the location of the Network Place: enter the relevant path \\nameofserver\nameofshare for the folder you need to access and click Next:

• Under Enter a name for the Network Place enter what you would like for this folder to be called
• Click on Finish.
• If prompted for a password, enter your NetID and CVM-AD password in the box
Windows XP

• Double-click on My Computer and click on My Network Places in the left window pane
• Under Networking Tasks click on Add a network place to open the Add Network Place Wizard
• Click Next to continue
• Select Choose another network location and click Next
• Under Internet or network address: enter the relevant path \\nameofserver\nameofshare for the folder you need to access and click Next:

• Under Type a name for this network place enter the name you would like for this folder to be called and click Next
• Click on Finish.
• If prompted for a password, enter your NetID and CVM-AD password in the box
