Fall 2010 Extended Walk-in (Drop Off) Service Hours Announced
Extended Walk-in (Drop off) Service for Fall 2010 is limited to the times below:
Wednesday and Friday 3pm – 5:30pm
During these advertised hours there is extended walk-in assistance available in Room 2938 VMBSB and users are able to walk-in and receive extended help with personal equipment. If the issue is extensive (involves spyware cleaning, software reinstall, etc.) the equipment may be dropped off. All drop off equipment should still have a technical request form attached to the equipment and Help Desk ticket created. In order to provide a timely turn around service, we do not accept more than 3 drop off items in one day. We will give priority to those that walk-in and need assistance during the advertised times above. Outside of Extended Walk-in Service Hours the walk-in issues should be limited to issues that can be addressed in 15 minutes or less such as password and permissions trouble, accessing the wireless network and answering basic troubleshooting questions.
Please note: Drop off service applies to all personal equipment (students, faculty and staff). University owned equipment should not be dropped off in the Help Desk area. If assistance is needed for University owned equipment please contact us via email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will schedule time to visit at your office location and or pick up the equipment.
