Meeting Maker to Exchange Migration Complete
Submitted by Computing Services on Fri, 2008-12-12 09:19Greetings All,
The Meeting Maker to Exchange conversion is complete. Please remember to use Outlook or the OWA (http://exchange.cites.uiuc.edu) to view and edit your calendar and resource calendars.
The Meeting Maker calendar will be online tomorrow if you feel the need to logon and check for data accuracy. However, do NOT schedule appointments in Meeting Maker. Again, any scheduling changes made in Meeting Maker after 5PM on Thursday, Dec 11th will NOT be migrated to your Exchange calendar.
Download Critical Windows Update
Submitted by Computing Services on Thu, 2008-10-23 17:45IMPORTANT MICROSOFT WINDOWS PATCH IS AVAILABLE
PLEASE TAKE ACTION
Microsoft has released a patch that resolves a critical vulnerability in Windows XP, 2000 and 2003. This patch release is out of their normal cycle which indicates they believe there is potential for wormlike exploitation.
Most Vet Med machines get patched automatically and will only need a reboot. Look in the system tray (lower right portion of your desktop) for a yellow shield. This indicates patches have been installed. Click on the shield and follow the instruction to restart your computer.

The deadline for departments to have their systems .illinois.edu capable is December 31. The change to illinois.edu is a campus-wide, ongoing project with several technical hurdles yet to be solved. You can begin to use your netid@illinois.edu address anytime. Your email might not display that address in the FROM field for technical reasons beyond Vet Med's control. When those technical issues are solved, we will be ready and announce the changes.

Email Migration Information
Submitted by Computing Services on Mon, 2008-04-14 15:56In an effort to bring our College email and calendar solutions together and gain synergy between email and scheduling, the administrative units of the College and departments will be migrated to Microsoft Exchange services. We will use the Microsoft Outlook application to read/send email and schedule meetings.
The College currently uses CITES Express email services and our own Meetingmaker service. This will unify our email and scheduling offerings onto the CITES operated Exchange service and provide us with one desktop application to support, namely Outlook.

CVM Faculty and Instructors,
I am happy to announce the iClickers are a huge success thus far. They have been used in six different courses thus far. This success has created some scheduling challenges for us. In order to make the iClickers available as much as possible, we have created some guidelines for their use. I ask for your cooperation with these guidelines.
