K9 Officer That Received Care Retires

Peoria Journal-Star (Oct. 29) – In March, K9 officer Flits fell through an unsupported drop ceiling to the first floor below and suffered a complex fracture to his left leg. The injury required complicated surgery at the University of Illinois [College] of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital, followed by extensive rehabilitation there and later at home. But he completed that process and was re-certified to return to active duty in late summer.
