Chicago Center for Veterinary Medicine - Veterinary Technician

The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Illinois seeks a Veterinary Technician for the Chicago Center for Veterinary Medicine (CCVM), a College satellite clinic located just west of the UIC campus in the Illinois Medical District.ᅠ This full-time civil service position will play a vital role in the success of this University of Illinois veterinary medicine primary care clinic that opened in the summer of 2009.

The Veterinary Technician will provide skilled paramedical assistance, nursing care, and assist and train veterinary students in medical procedures, techniques and equipment operations in the CCVM.

To be considered for the position, it is required that the candidate have successfully completed a veterinary technology program accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association and possess or gain certification as a veterinary technician by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation. It is preferable that candidates possess a minimum of one year of paramedical veterinary experience that included specialized on-the-job training with experience in medical techniques.

Salary is commensurate with experience.ᅠ Minimum starting salary ranges from $34,000 $40,000.ᅠ Standard University vacation, sick leave, medical, and dental coverage is included.
