The Animal Birth Control Clinic of Pet Refuge located in South Bend, Indiana is seeking a spay/neuter surgeon to operate in their high quality, high volume, spay neuter clinic dedicated to providing affordable services to dogs and cats of the Michiana area. The ABC Clinic serves individually owned animals as well as nearly all locally-recognized rescue organizations, feral cat groups, and shelters for their spay/neuter needs. We operate under a strict set of surgical guidelines for spay and neuter surgery designated by Humane Alliance.

The clinic is open Monday through Friday. The applicant will be responsible for performing approximately 30-40 surgeries per day, 4 days per week. Duties will be shared with 2 other veterinarians currently on staff. Opportunities will also be available for continuing to practice medicine at our adjacent no-kill dog and cat shelter, Pet Refuge. We see and treat a wide variety of cases!

South Bend, located on the northern border of Indiana, is home to the beautiful University of Notre Dame and is only a short distance away from the beaches of Lake Michigan and a quick drive or train ride from Chicago. Applicant must hold a doctorate of veterinary medicine from an accredited university of school of veterinary medicine. Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of Indiana. Must have or be able to obtain a DEA license to purchase controlled drugs. An appreciation for the mission of population management is a must. Individuals with experience in a shelter or fast-paced clinic setting are encouraged to apply. New graduates will be considered.
