IVSRC Scholarship
Two $500 scholarships are awarded each year through SAVMA's International
Student Relations Committee. The scholarship goes towards funding international
veterinary experiences. The deadline is February 15, 2008.

Fulbright Scholar Program: Opportunities for International Education
Administrators
The Fulbright Scholar Program is inviting applications to programs for
International Education Administrators (IEA) offered by the Fulbright
commissions in Germany, Japan or Korea. These two- to three-week summer
seminars provide background on the host country's culture, society and
system of higher education. In addition to presentations by specialists,
the programs include meetings with government and university officials
and site visits to campuses.
Successful applicants have strong records of professional accomplishments
(leadership in professional organizations, presentations at meetings,
development of innovative programs, publications and so forth) and present
a compelling statement of how they will use the experience and disseminate
what they will learn. Applicants must have U.S. citizenship and affiliation
with a college, university, or a non-profit organization, with experience
in international education. Applicants for Germany must have at least
three years of experience. Applicants for Japan and Korea must have at
least five years of experience, and should be based in institutions that
have sizeable populations of students from those countries as well as
some other linkages in place. Further program information, application

National Geographic's Young Explorers Grants Program
This program provides grants to 18-25 year olds to help them fund projects
in the fields of science, conservation and environmental studies, in major
fields of study such as anthropology, archaeology, astronomy, biology,
geography, oceanography, and paleontology. Twenty-five to 50 grants ranging
from $2,000 to $5,000 will be provided each year to a select number of
young adults who apply. Information on grant applications is available
