DR. INDRANI C. BAGCHI TO HOLD FIELD CHAIR IN REPRODUCTIVE BIOLOGY On Friday, September 21, the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine will invest Indrani C. Bagchi, professor of comparative biosciences, as the next holder of the Field Chair in Reproductive Biology. KUDOS Dr. Sheldon Rubin, Class of 1968, was recently honored by the American Heartworm Society with the title Honorary Member in recognition of his ongoing efforts to educate the public about heartworm. Dr. Rubin is a past president of the American Heartworm Society. Dermatology resident Dr. Katrine Voie received the first place Resident's Research Award for Basic Science at the 7th World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology in Vancouver, B.C., for her free communication titled “The Toxicity of Antibiotics Associated with Cutaneous Drug Allergies Against a Canine Keratinocyte Cell Line.” Dr. Sidonie Lavergne was her research advisor for this project. :: :: :: ::

Dean Whiteley Visits the University of Queensland Dean Herb Whiteley recently visited the veterinary school at the University of Queensland outside Brisbane, Australia. He was leading an accreditation site review team for the AVMA Council on Education.
