APRIL 2011 EDITION

FROM THE DEAN

butterfly on purple flowerWith assurances that "green thumbs are optional," this year's fund-raising campaign directed at college faculty and staff kicked off under the banner of "Planting the Seeds of the Future." The new growth of springtime provides a perfect metaphor for the work that goes on here: cultivating future veterinary practitioners, bringing research concepts to fruition, nourishing health in animal patients and ensuring the public health in many ways.

Each of you got your start thanks to the efforts and cultivation of teachers, mentors, and key experiences. Now is the time to be the one who nurtures those just starting out. I encourage you to consider which programs and experiences at the college you'd like to grow, whether that is a service area in one of our clinics, a scholarship for veterinary students, or an outreach program.
