Retirement Reception held in honor of Dr.Val Beasley

The retirement reception for Dr. Beasley was a success, and he was very surprised and grateful for the photobook. Thanks again to all of you who submitted items for the book. It was compiled with photographs, stories, comments, and wishes from Envirovet students and faculty, and was presented to Dr. Beasley for his retirement. Below are pictures from the reception. For those who don't already know, in 1991, while working at athe Univesrity of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), Dr. Val Beasley founded the Envirovet Summer Institutes, with an aquatic animal and ecosystem health focus, in concert with the University of Wisconsin–Superior Center for Great Lake Studies, the Biology Department of the University of Minnesota–Duluth, and the US EPA’s Fresh Water Ecology Laboratory.  After 33 years, Val officially retired from the College of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign on May 15, 2011.
