U of I ACES Campus

We demonstrated the use of gentle leaders for dogs, and give demonstrations on positive reinforcement based training using dogs and treats. It is important to appreciate animal behavior as a way to communicate effectively with our pets and the animals we come in contact with every day. Being able to recognize normal animal behavior and discerning that from the behavior of a sick or stressed animal will help us better take care of our companion animals, and to stay safe around them. Here is the Petstravaganza 2008 flyer.

Sat Feb 23, 2008: Carpool from U of I and meet at Crosswinds at 3:45 pm
Crosswinds Equine Rescue in Sidell (near Danville, about a 45 minute drive away)

Crosswinds Equine Rescue is currently in the Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge, and they are training a wild mustang to compete at the Midwest horse fair in a few months. They invited us to meet Cheveyo, and let us tour their facilities and give us a presentation on horse training and breaking. Everyone is invited, not just Behavior Club members. This was an awesome opportunity to see some horse training and breaking, and meet some wonderful animals.

Please email vwen2@uiuc.edu for more information.
