Summary: I traveled to the Pali District of Rajasthan, India to survey pastoralists on demographic factors (education, family size, water sources, etc.), resources (number of animals owned, how animals are used), and health indicators (access to medical and veterinary care, use of traditional medicine, hygienic standards used while working with animals and animal products). The results of the surveys and my personal observations will be combined and analyzed.
