- Introductory Meeting

This was our first meeting of the year. We learned about AAHA and ISCAAHA, met our Chicago AAHA Representative, Dr. Bruederle, and saw what we have in store for this year. Giovanni's was served to those who RSVP'd.
After this meeting we also elected our First Year Representative, Kate Janczak. Congratulations Kate!
Dr. Biehl and AAHA evaluators, Wanda Ross and Matt Kimmes, spoke a bit about the AAHA Accreditation process here at the Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital and did a short Q&A session. Lunch was served to those who RSVP'd, and a raffle was held at the end of the meeting.
Update: We passed our AAHA re-accreditation hurdle with plenty of room to spare! Congratulations to the Illinois Veterinary Teaching Hospital!

MRSA 101 with Dr. Johnson

Dr. Yvette Johnson spoke about MRSA (methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus) as it is described in current literature, as well as what she has been learning through her own research.This was a co-sponsored event with the Public Health Association. Lunch was served to members.
- DVM Interviewer Conversations with ISCAAHA

VMBSB Cafe, Heritage Room, VMBSB 2271 & 2278
Members joined the DVM interviewers for casual conversation, discussions about small, large and corporate practices, rural versus urban practices, and more while enjoying dessert and refreshments! The conversations started in the VMBSB Cafe with overflow into the Heritage Room, 2271 and 2258. All ISCAAHA members were invited. - Intervet: Vetsulin Lecture with Dr. Kraig Weinberg

- Fort Dodge Lunch Lecture Series Presented: Dr. Karen Felsted from the NCVEI

Dr. Karen Felsted presented on good business practices for veterinarians. Lunch was provided (Potbelly's) to those who RSVP'd by April 8th at 6pm to amaul2@illinois.edu. Everyone was welcome to RSVP and attend. Co-hosted VBMA, AAHA, ISCAVMA and Fort Dodge.
- Job Negotiations Workshop with Dr. Rebecca Bryant

Dr. Rebecca Bryant from the Graduate College discussed lead a discussion entiteld "The Art & Science of Job Offer Negotiations." Particularly skilled in graduate student and professional career development, Dr. Bryant gave a lecture but encouraged interaction and questions! Dinner (Olive Garden) was served to members who RSVP'd.
