3-D Cow App to Teach Anatomy

Nov 12, 2015 / In the News

Fox Illinois 55/27 News (Nov. 12) – Janet Sinn-Hanlon and Alan Craig both worked on developing an app that displays a 3-D cow known as Desktop Bessie for use in teaching anatomy to veterinary students. “So to be able to take them from a cat scan or a MRI and be able to turn them into a 3-D object and rotate it and slice through it teaches you so much better than just 2 d pictures often will,” said Sinn-Hanlon. “Anything that we can do to help them understand the relationship in this complex 3-D entity like the internals of this cow is, I think a real win,” said Craig.
